PT Cruiser Mutifunction Switch Turn SignalsMay 23, 2012
By Bob Wilson
If you are having trouble with Your PT Cruiser draining its battery, and you've replaced it and the battery continues to go flat and there is no obvious reason for this to be happening, it may be due to a faulty Multifunction Switch (turn signals, fog lights, etc, located behind the steering wheel under the cover). If the car has factory fog lights, when these switches fail they often turn on the fog lights without your touching the switch, even though the car is parked, engine off and all switches turned off.
The bad switch keeps the fog lights on until your battery is dead, or if you drive the car frequently it keeps the battery in a constant state of low charge. Low charge may let you start the engine, but it also causes odd and annoying problems with things like your automatic door locks sometimes responding to your key fob and sometimes they don't.
There's no time or mileage limits on this switch. It has happened on almost new cars, while in other cases (like mine, a 2001 model just recently having the switch fail) it may be years after the car was built.
If you have this problem with your Cruiser, this replacement switch will cure it. There's even a You Tube video on how to change the switch out, making it a fairly easy repair.

Excellent Product and Shipping!Jul 11, 2012
My fog lamps were out for a little more than 3 years until I found this part. Installed it using a YouTube video. Installed in 10 minutes. Simple.
Replacement for defective switchApr 12, 2014
By Scott Pittman
This is a MOPAR replacement for the original equipment in the PT cruiser. Installation is straightforward and only involves about six screws. It will require either the purchase of a new flasher module relay or swapping out the module from the original switch to the replacement switch. In my case the problem turned out to be more complex than a simple switch (it also involved a shorted out wire in the electrical system) however that had nothing to do with the replacement part I received nor did it reflect on the supplier of that part. I was greatly satisfied with both the supplier and the part.
Solid Replacement, Works WellMar 03, 2014

Item came on time, installation was straightforward (followed steps I found online, took me maybe a half hour with little trouble). Works well and solved the problem PT Cruisers have where the fog lights will stay on all the time (due to a bad plunger/contact from what I've read).
